NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

NOVEMBER 2009 NEWSLETTER

The leaves are turning in middle Tennessee…the clock has rolled back…and my wife, Kathy and I are spending Turkey month in one of our favorite places again…Gulf Shores, Alabama.

NOVEMBER
I’m here in Gulf Shores to do some writing and performing with my friend, BRENT BURNS.

DATES November 12
I will actually  be leaving the beach for a date in Indiana.  That date is November 12 in Greensburg, Indiana for the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE at their dinner and local awards show.  It is open to the public.  If you’d like to come…call 812-663-2832.  Cocktails, dinner and my show for $20.  The event will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

November 15
I’ll be at a very cool venue near Gulf Shores called PIRATES COVE which is located on the water in Elberta, Alabama.  I’ll be playing a musical comedy round with BRENT BURNS and KACEY JONES and it promises to be a very funny night.  This night should sell out.  Call 251-987-1224 for tickets.

November 18
It’s a return to the beautiful Villagio Grille located in the Wharf Complex at Orange, Beach Alabama as part of the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival.  Two other writers will be in a round that starts at 7 pm.  Great food.

November 19
A must see evening.  I’m back with my favorite co-writer Brent Burns for some back and forth funny stuff at Lulu’s on the intracoastal in Gulf Shores owned by Jimmy Buffett’s sister Lulu.  Also part of the Frank Brown Songwriters Festival.  Brent and I will on bar stools singing at laughing at 6 pm.   For more information on the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival that runs November12-22 in Gulf Shores…so to FBISF.COM.  THIS IS THE 25TH Anniversary of this festival that draws hundreds of great songwriters to the beach.

November 28
After I return from Gulf Shores I’ll be in the round again at PUCKETT’S GROCERY in Franklin, Tennessee with some of my favorite musical friends, LINDA DAVIS and her husband, LANG SCOTT…as well as noted producer and guitarist, BRENT ROWAN.  There is a $10 cover.  Come early for dinner…the show is at 8:30.  For more information call 615-794-5527.

BIG NEWS
I’m truly excited to let you know that the next single from BRADY SEALS will be a song the two of us wrote together a few months ago called “BEEN THERE, DRUNK THAT”.  It’s a great, fun, up-tempo song that you will find on Brady’s new CD “PLAYTIME” available at bradyseals.com.  Buy three copies!  Brady’s record label has big plans for the song including a tour and a video that you should see before too long.  We are hoping that you will be hearing it on the radio somewhere near spring.  Thanks to Brady for such a great record.

LOOKING BACK AT OCTOBER
FIRST, THE WRITING
It was a busy month of songwriting and I’m happy to see the catalog growing bigger.  Thanks to all of my co-writers for penning tunes with me this past month…new and familiar faces.  I never get tired of trying to create a little magic with words and music.  I’m more and more confident that some of these songs are going to find their way to your ears someday.

PERFORMING
I had the pleasure of trying out some of the new songs several times.  Early in the month I spent a night on stage with KACEY JONES and JESSE GOLDBERG…both of them extremely funny songwriters and more.  Thanks to THE LISTENING ROOM in Nashville for having us.   I sat in with WATSON AND NASH on a couple of occasions recently.  Once at the COPPER KETTLE…another time at the EDGEHILL CAFÉ.  WATSON AND NASH are a young duo with a new CD out called “MILEMARKERS” that you can find at watsonandnash.com.  There are four songs on their debut CD that I helped them co-write.

And I spent four nights in Dayton, Ohio at the FUNNYBONE with one of my favorite comedians, HEYWOOD BANKS.  We had great crowds…and I want to thank so many of you who made the trip up to Dayton to see me.  My old radio partner, AMANDA ORLANDO, came one night with friends…TOM and BETTY OWENS, CHES, my Parrothead buddy and others.  My favorite night was when a table of twenty sang “GOIN’ UGLY EARLY” at the top of their lungs.  Thanks to all for coming and laughing.

My thanks again to DIANE DAVIS of WDKN 1260 AM radio in Dickson, Tennessee for having me as her musical guest for a second time in October.  The broadcast is available in podcast form at wdkn1260am.  Just look for the STUDIO 1260 podcasts and you’ll find the one hour show I was a part of.  Enjoy.

LOOK FOR THE BLOG
Don’t forget that I BLOG Monday through Friday.  It’s my attempt at doing a radio show in print.  You’ll find the BLOG on my website at billwhytecomedy.com or at myspace.com/billwhytecomedy.  The print is bigger on the My Space page for those of you challenged by small printing.  However…the jokes aren’t any funnier in the bigger font!

A HUMOR COLUMN This is not a completely done deal yet…but mostly.  It looks like I’ll be writing a weekly humor column for THE BOOT which is an online BLOG from AOL.  THE BLOG is all about your favorite country stars…interviews…music…videos and much more.  Check it out at theboot.com.  I’m hoping by the time you receive the next newsletter there will already be a column or two posted.  Just look for my name.

CHRISTMAS HOUSE PARTY ANYONE?
Just a reminder that I am available to come to your house for a private concert.  With Christmas on the horizon…it’s something to consider.  Invite a bunch of your friends…everyone bring something to eat and donate to the entertainer (me!) and you’ve got a Christmas Party to remember.  For more details just shoot me a note at info@billwhytecomedy.com

BACK TO THE BEACH
While I’m in Gulf Shores I will be writing, performing…and re-charging.  I have some family and extended family  and songwriters who will be down for all or parts of our month which will make it even more enjoyable. The FRANK BROWN INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL runs for two weeks up and down the beach and it will be fun to drop in on some musical friends while they visit.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving…and do remember as you hold hands with family around the table to give thanks and be grateful for the friends and family in your life.   See you soon.
